What will I do with a grade of EXT and DRP?

Grade of EXT

The completion of EXT and removal of 4.0 are applicable to students who have incurred a grade of EXT or 4.0.

An EXT (Extended) mark is given to a student who fails to submit any one of the requirements of the course. Completion of EXT may entail submission of assignments, taking examinations, and other work that the faculty-in-charge may require.

On the other hand, a grade of 4.0 may be removed by successful repetition of the course, or by passing the re-examination during the prescribed removal period. Students who pass the re-examination shall be given a grade of 3.0 and those who failed, a grade of 5.0.

How to Apply for Completion / Removal:

  • Step 1: Log in to the Student Portal and apply for completion or removal.

Note: If you cannot access the Student Portal, please send an email to techsupport@upou.edu.ph.

  • Step 2: Submit the print copy of the application to the FMDS along with the lacking requirement/s, if any. If the lacking requirement is an exam, contact the Faculty Office regarding the details of the exam.
  • Step 3: Wait for an email from the Faculty of Study for updates.

Grade of DRP

A student may, with the consent of the instructor and the Faculty Dean, drop a course by filling out the prescribed form before three-fourths (3/4) of the semester/term has elapsed, and not later. The registration privilege of a student who drops a course without the approval of the Dean may be curtailed or entirely withdrawn.

If a course is dropped after the middle of the term, the faculty member concerned shall indicate in the prescribed form the class standing of the student at the time of dropping as either Passing or Failing solely for administrative guidance.

The application for dropping is done through the Student Portal. Application period begins at the start of classes and ends a day after the deadline for filing of application for dropping (refer to the academic calendar for deadlines).

The student is required to pay the application for dropping fee of Php 10.00 per unit and upload the proof of payment in the Student Portal. See procedures for payment of fees.

How to Apply for Dropping of Course:

  • Step 1: Log in to the Student Portal and apply for dropping of courses.
  • Step 2: Upload the proof of payment to the system.
  • Step 3: Wait for an email from the FMDS for updates.
